Flight Bookings

Please note that tickets issued by us are done so using a third party and if you miss your flight for any reason whatsoever, the ticket cannot be exchanged or changed to a later time or date and you will be liable to purchase a new ticket and claim damages from your travel insurance Company.

Late arrivals

Please note that it does sometimes happen that your flight is delayed while in transit to South Africa. As we normally collect a number of people for the same safari departure, please be advised that if you flight is delayed, we are not willing to compromise the entire safari for other guests. In this instance we will do our best to either arrange a private transfer for you or suggest you spend the day in Johannesburg before departing the following day on safari. Please note that a private transfer or additional day in Johannesburg is for your own cost.

Luggage or personal belongings left behind

If you do perhaps leave luggage, a camera or something of value on one of the vehicles or at one of the lodges, where possible, we will assist in getting the found belongings returned to our head office in Johannesburg. It is your responsibility from there to arrange with a local freight or shipping company to collect the goods.

Changes due to forces of nature beyond our control

We will be excused for circumstances beyond our control that are deemed to be forces of nature.

Changes to the Itinerary

Please note that the itinerary we provide you with is an intended itinerary and may vary due to logistical reasons. We will strive to provide every activity on the itinerary or where possible we will replace the activity with a suitable substitution.

Changes to accommodation

Should it be deemed necessary due to inclement weather conditions, fire hazard or any other forces of nature or circumstances beyond our control to move clients for their own safety from the establishment where they are staying or where they have booked with us, we reserve the right to do so with little or no notice period.

We also reserve the right to change accommodation establishments to an alternative establishment should we not be able to book the desired room or room standard as per our itinerary, or if the original establishment becomes fully booked before we are able to make a booking. We will strive to book you in an alternative establishment of the same or better standard.

Onward Travel arrangements

If the arrangements are made for the same day the tour ends, Viva Safaris cannot be held responsible for any delays resulting in failure to meet those arrangements.


All specials, free nights and any discount offers are subject to payment being made in full when booking your safari.

Third Party Applications

Please note that all third party applications such as the currency converter or language converter should be used as an indication only. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the results.

Website Content

We strive to keep the content on our website up to date and correct at all times. It does sometimes happen that our prices displayed may be incorrect or a special has expired. We reserve the right to charge the fares and change any such information or content in such an instance, and will be excused for any such an error.

Cancellation policy

More than 14 days prior to departure: Client forfeits 50%
14 days or fewer prior to departure: Client forfeits 100%

Alteration to tours

The company reserves the right to change the itinerary, accommodation or mode of transport should conditions necessitate such alteration. Transportation will be in an air-conditioned microbus or midi-coach according to the number of passengers booked on a tour. Any alternations made whilst on safari will be for the clients account.


Fares advertised include transportation, entrance, conservation fee, daytime game drives, night drives listed, sightseeing, dinner, bed and breakfast. Clients visiting a private lodge will have game drives by open safari vehicle or bush walks. The following services are excluded – lunches, drinks from the bar, telephone calls, tips, laundry and other personal expenses.


All our vehicles have operating licenses & public Liability. Drivers also have public driving permits.


Whilst Viva Safaris, their employees, and/or agents will take every care against such contingencies, they cannot be held responsible for, and shall be exempt from any liability for any delay, loss, damage, illness or injury to any person and/or his/her luggage or personal property or alleged inferior accommodation.

Wild animals

Although attacks by wild animals are rare, guests are reminded that many of the animals and reptiles they will see are potentially dangerous. Viva Safaris, their guides, contracted Tour Operators, selected private lodges and national parks cannot be held responsible for any injuries caused during an incident involving the behaviour of wild animals.


It is strongly recommended that passengers have adequate insurance against cancellation, loss of baggage, personal accident and medical expenses.
